The Chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), Engineer Masoud Suleiman, attended the graduation ceremony of the second class of the Oil Institute in Ajdabiya on Thursday. The event marked a key milestone in developing Libya’s technical workforce, with graduates expected to play an important role in the energy sector.
The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the NOC, representatives of Sirte Oil Company, members of Ajdabiya’s municipal council, community leaders, and elders, as well as the institute’s management committee. The presence of national and local stakeholders underscored the importance of the institute as a training hub for the oil and gas industry.
During the celebration, certificates were formally handed to graduates who successfully completed their studies. The achievement was hailed as a sign of resilience and commitment to building a new generation of qualified technicians capable of supporting the sector.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, Suleiman toured the institute’s facilities, including laboratories, workshops, classrooms, and service units. He expressed appreciation for the efforts made to enhance the educational environment and provide students with modern, practical training opportunities.
The NOC Chairman also inspected the final stages of installing drilling rig 37 IDECO, recently transferred to the training centre by the National Drilling and Oil Well Maintenance Company. The rig is expected to serve as a key training tool, offering students hands-on experience in drilling operations and strengthening their technical skills.
The graduation highlighted the ongoing commitment of the NOC to investing in human resources, ensuring that Libya’s oil and gas industry remains supported by skilled national expertise. It also reflected broader efforts to link education, training, and industry needs in order to enhance productivity and sustainability within the energy sector.
