30,000 Tonnes of Condensate Loaded at Brega Port

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) said that the Valle di Siviglia tanker arrived at Libya’s Brega port on Monday to load 30,000 tonnes of condensate. This is to allow for continued gas production for local power plants.

The shipment of condensate would allow for gas production to continue at 160 million cubic feet (mcf) per day, NOC said.

However, there would still be a shortfall of around 90 mcf of gas per day as a result of the closure of oil facilities and the lack of budget for fuel imports, it added.

The blockade was imposed by the eastern-based Libyan National Army (LNA) in January.

Last week, the LNA said that shipments from blockaded ports would be limited to those needed to offload stored products. Production of gas needed at power stations will also be allowed.
