Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), has praised the critical role played by Libyan tribes in advancing national reconciliation and safeguarding social unity.

During a meeting with tribal leaders and dignitaries from the eastern, central, and southeastern regions, Haftar expressed appreciation for their continued efforts to bridge divides and strengthen the nation’s fabric.

Speaking in the presence of tribal elders, community representatives, and senior military officials, Haftar emphasized the historical importance of Libya’s tribal structure in maintaining social harmony and preserving national identity.

“The Libyan tribes have always been the cornerstone of unity, dignity, and reconciliation,” he said. “Their wisdom, loyalty, and deep ties to the land make them a stabilizing force in times of crisis.”

Haftar reaffirmed that the Libyan Armed Forces remain fully committed to protecting the homeland and supporting all efforts aimed at achieving lasting peace, national unity, and stability.

He noted that reconciliation must be led from within, rooted in Libyan values and traditions, and shielded from foreign interference. “Our people understand their responsibilities. The path to peace lies in our own hands, and the armed forces will always stand as the guardian of that path.”

The meeting, held at the Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar Military City, was part of a broader initiative to unify the national voice and build momentum for a homegrown political settlement. It also underscored the Armed Forces’ position as a central pillar in safeguarding Libya’s sovereignty and enabling civil and political progress.
