The General Command of the Libyan National Army (LNA) has launched a new phase of development at Sebha International Airport, marking a significant step in the broader plan to modernize key infrastructure in southern Libya.
This complementary project focuses on the construction of a state-of-the-art administrative building adjacent to the nearly completed international passenger terminal. The new facility is designed to streamline airport operations and enhance management efficiency, further preparing the airport to serve as a fully functional international gateway.
Work is progressing swiftly. Engineering teams have already completed site excavation, foundation pouring, and structural column work, signaling that the project is moving steadily toward completion. This development is part of a comprehensive master plan to revive and expand the airport, elevating its status as a vital transport and logistics hub for Libya’s southern region.
The new administrative complex, along with the upcoming terminal, is expected to transform Sebha Airport into one of Libya’s most advanced aviation facilities. It will provide improved services for passengers and airlines alike and serve as a model for future infrastructure projects across the country.
The General Command emphasized that this initiative underscores its strategic vision for southern Libya, highlighting a commitment to balanced national development and the delivery of quality public services to all regions. Officials noted that the project also reflects the region’s growing importance in the national economy and its potential as a platform for trade, mobility, and long-term growth.
