On Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the Libyan crisis in a telephone conversation with the Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.

According to the Kremlin’s statement, the two leaders agreed that there is no military solution to the Libyan crisis and confirmed that “the crisis can only be resolved by political and diplomatic means.”

“The need to resume the intra-Libyan dialogue as soon as possible was noted too,” the Kremlin’s statement added.

While discussing current issues of Russian-Italian relations, Putin and Conte also agreed to boost cooperation in countering the coronavirus infection, including the development of vaccines to prevent this disease.
