Libyan Prime Minister of the Parliament-designate government, Osama Hammad, attended the inauguration of the first phase of a major urban development project in Benghazi, accompanied by senior officials from the House of Representatives. The ceremony brought together Abdullah Al-Masri Al-Fadil, Head of the Parliament’s Diwan, along with several senior state and municipal representatives.
The project, known as Lotus Park, is being developed by Emaar Libya Holding Company and is regarded as one of the largest integrated urban ventures underway in the city. Designed as a modern, mixed-use hub, the development features a five-star hotel, commercial halls, office spaces, a school, restaurants, and sports facilities, offering a comprehensive urban environment that aligns with contemporary city-planning standards.
The inauguration was attended by Abdulhamid Al-Zawawi, Chairman of Emaar Libya Holding, Mustafa Al-Masmari, Secretary-General of the Cabinet’s Diwan, and Saqr Boujuwari, Head of the Benghazi Municipal Steering Council. Officials emphasised that the project reflects growing momentum in the city’s reconstruction and renewal efforts, particularly as Benghazi continues to expand its service and commercial infrastructure.
Lotus Park is expected to play a central role in reshaping the city’s urban identity by blending residential, commercial, and leisure elements within a unified architectural concept. The development aims to provide a well-balanced environment that accommodates families, investors, and visitors, while contributing to long-term economic diversification in eastern Libya.
Officials said the project represents a strategic milestone in Benghazi’s development plans and demonstrates the authorities’ commitment to enhancing public services and attracting investment. They highlighted that such projects serve as key pillars for creating sustainable urban growth and supporting local economic initiatives driven by the private sector.
