Libya has carried out a series of broad deportation operations over the past 48 hours, removing 332 migrants of three different nationalities from its territory.
The actions, coordinated by multiple regional branches of the Anti-Illegal Migration Agency, form part of the government’s ongoing efforts to regulate the presence of foreign nationals and address immigration violations in line with legal and humanitarian standards.
In southern Libya, the Al-Shati branch deported 91 Nigerian migrants through Sabha International Airport. The individuals had been transferred from the Brak Al-Shati branch to the Sabha shelter facility before being processed. Authorities stated that all necessary legal steps and documentation were completed before their departure.
At the same time, the Kufra branch carried out a major operation early Thursday morning, deporting 155 Chadian nationals. The move followed direct orders from the leadership overseeing the southeastern and central regions. Migration officials confirmed that the deportees underwent legal verification procedures and medical examinations before being transported out of the country.
In eastern Libya, the Greater Benghazi branch deported 86 Egyptian nationals through the Umm Saad land border crossing. This group included individuals who had entered Libya irregularly, in addition to those already staying at detention facilities. Officials said the deportations were preceded by humanitarian procedures, medical checks, and reviews of legal status.
The Anti-Illegal Migration Agency stressed that all deportation operations were conducted in accordance with domestic law and international humanitarian standards. Officials reiterated that Libya remains committed to safeguarding the dignity of migrants while ensuring the enforcement of regulations governing their presence in the country.
