The Libyan Premier League officially gets underway today, Wednesday, with four opening fixtures marking the start of the 2025–2026 football season. The matches will be played across two groups, Group One and Group Three, as clubs begin their campaign in Libya’s top domestic competition.

In Group Three, Al-Taawoun face Al-Saqour in one of the opening matches at the 10 June Stadium in Ajdabiya, setting the tone for the new season. Another Group Three fixture will see Al-Hilal host Darnes at the Martyrs of Benina Stadium in Benghazi, a match expected to draw strong interest from local fans.

Meanwhile, Group One action features Al-Watan taking on Al-Madina at Al-Zawiya Stadium in a clash between two sides aiming for a strong early statement. The fourth match of the opening day will be played at the Great Man-Made River Stadium, where Al-Dhahra meet Al-Khums as both teams look to secure valuable opening points.

The launch of the new season comes amid heightened anticipation among supporters, with clubs eager to establish momentum from the very first round. The Libyan Premier League remains a central platform for domestic football development, showcasing emerging talent and maintaining competitive balance across its regional groups.
