The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has commended the operational and training achievements of Sirte Oil Company, Harouge Oil Operations, and the Ajdabiya Oil Institute during their annual general meetings held on Monday at the corporation’s headquarters in Tripoli.

The meetings brought together the NOC chairman and board members, alongside boards and management committees, general managers, department heads, and technical specialists. Discussions focused on reviewing performance in 2025 and outlining the projects and operational plans scheduled for implementation in 2026 by the two oil companies and the institute.

NOC Chairman Masoud Suleiman praised the accomplishments of Sirte and Harouge, as well as the Ajdabiya Oil Institute, expressing appreciation for the efforts of employees across all entities. He stressed that occupational safety remains a top priority in all oil and gas operations, alongside continued investment in training national personnel, safeguarding oil assets, and completing measurement systems to strengthen governance and improve operational accuracy and efficiency.

During the meetings, participants reviewed the results of projects completed in 2025. Sirte Oil Company recorded a peak production level of 116,000 barrels of oil per day and 445 million cubic feet of gas, in addition to the drilling of 17 wells. Harouge Oil Operations achieved its highest daily production rate at 48,000 barrels of oil and 33 million cubic feet of gas, while also completing the second phase of the rehabilitation of the Ghani oil field.

The performance of the Ajdabiya Oil Institute was also reviewed, with the institute graduating 228 trainees in 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to support workforce development and build national capacities in Libya’s oil and gas sector.

The meetings concluded with directives emphasizing the need to accelerate refinery-related projects, develop a comprehensive plan for operating the industrial complex affiliated with Sirte Oil Company, and give greater attention to employees and trainees at both companies and the institute. The NOC also underscored the importance of implementing sustainable development projects and strengthening the corporation’s role in supporting Libya’s national economy.
