The Health Institutions Accreditation Authority has held talks on enhancing institutional performance at the Tobruk Medical Center, as part of ongoing efforts to improve healthcare service quality across Libya.
During the meeting, Fadwa Al-Faidi, Head of the Health Institutions Accreditation Authority, met with Faraj Al-Jali, Director of Tobruk Medical Center, to review mechanisms aimed at supporting and developing the center’s institutional and administrative performance.
Discussions focused on strengthening governance frameworks, improving operational efficiency, and aligning medical and administrative practices with national health accreditation standards. The meeting also addressed ways to support medical staff and enhance service delivery to meet the growing healthcare needs of residents in Tobruk and surrounding areas.
The Health Institutions Accreditation Authority plays a central role in regulating and evaluating healthcare facilities in Libya, with the goal of raising service quality, ensuring patient safety, and promoting sustainable institutional development. Officials stressed that improving institutional performance is a key step toward achieving higher standards of healthcare and rebuilding public confidence in medical services.
For his part, the Director of Tobruk Medical Center highlighted the importance of cooperation with national oversight bodies, noting that institutional development and adherence to accreditation standards are essential for upgrading medical services and expanding the center’s capabilities.
The meeting reflects broader national efforts to reform Libya’s healthcare sector through structured evaluation, capacity building, and institutional support, as authorities continue to prioritize healthcare development as a cornerstone of social stability and public well-being.
