The Director-General of Libya’s National Development Authority, Mahmoud Al-Farjani, conducted a field inspection tour to monitor progress on the strategic international road project linking Sirte, Sokna, and Sebha (S.S.S), passing through the Al-Bawanis municipality in southern Libya.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to track the implementation of key infrastructure projects across the country’s southern regions, with a focus on improving execution efficiency and ensuring adherence to approved development plans.
The Sirte–Sokna–Sebha road project is considered a vital infrastructure initiative aimed at enhancing Libya’s transport network, facilitating movement between cities, and supporting trade flows. The project is also expected to strengthen geographical connectivity, contributing to broader economic and social development.
During the tour, Al-Farjani reviewed construction progress and various phases of implementation, receiving technical briefings from supervising engineers on the latest developments. Officials confirmed that work is continuing in line with the planned timelines and established engineering standards.
The project is part of a wider development strategy focused on upgrading infrastructure, improving regional integration, and supporting long-term economic stability, particularly in Libya’s southern regions, which have historically faced infrastructure challenges.
