On Sunday, the Egyptian Foreign Minister, Sameh Shoukry, said that Egypt supports all efforts to reach a solution to the crisis in Libya.

In a joint press conference with his Armenian counterpart Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, Shoukry added that Egypt had intervened to stabilize the military situation in Libya.

Shoukry emphasized the unity of the Libyan territories and Cairo’s respect for international decisions, adding: “We adhere to a Libyan-Libyan political solution under the umbrella of the United Nations.”

He pointed out that there are foreign interventions serving expansionary policies in Libya, above all Turkey’s policies which are destabilising the whole region. On this matter, the foreign minister added: “If the Turkish statements do not coincide with actions, they do not matter.”
