On Monday, Libyan Airlines denied reports circulating on social media, that it had set dates for the resumption of flights to Tunisia.

The airlines stressed that it continues to only operate flights to and from Istanbul. It confirmed that no date has been set for Tunisia.

In recent weeks, rumours that international flights will shortly return have been circulating on social media, without any official statement from the airlines. “All international flights remain suspended until further notice,” Libyan Airlines said in a statement. It noted that it would provide any updates through its official Facebook page.

Yesterday, the Libyan African Aviation Holding Company (LAAHC), announced it would gradually resume flights with Tunisia, in October. The LAAHC explained that the Tunisian General Administration of Civil Aviation has set conditions for accepting arrivals to Tunisia. These are expected to be implemented on Monday.

In March, Libya suspended all flights, in order to limit the spread of COVID-19.
