The Libyan General Administration of Ports Security sent orders on Saturday to prevent the entry of a tanker loaded with oil equipment coming from Italy. The order came as a precautionary measure to prevent the introduction of COVID-19 into Libya.

Sources revealed that, on Saturday, the tanker had first unloaded in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, then headed with its remaining cargo intended for oil companies who are located at the port city of Ras Lanuf.

Anwar Abdul Salam Busaqer, the Head of Operations for the Libyan Ports Company at Ras Lanuf Port, stated that the tanker was not allowed to enter following instructions from the General Administration of Ports Security to prevent the transmission of Coronavirus in Libya.
