On Friday, the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Othman Al-Jerandi, received the US Ambassador to Tunisia, Donald Blume, and Richard Norland, the US Ambassador to Libya.

The Tunisian Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the meeting dealt with the distinguished bilateral relations that bind the two countries and ways to enhance them.

“The meeting also dealt with the latest developments in Libya on the horizon of Tunisia hosting the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum under the auspices of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, whose meetings will start on November 09,” the statement added.

The two parties also exchanged ways to support the Tunis Forum, “as it is an important and precious opportunity to achieve a permanent and comprehensive political settlement in Libya.”

The US diplomats affirmed the United States’ support for the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in Tunisia (LPDF). They appreciated the efforts made by Tunisia to provide all conditions for success for this important dialogue with regard to resolving the Libyan crisis.
