On Sunday, the Head of the Tunisian Salvation Front, Munther Qafrash, revealed what he called a “conspiracy scandal” that will strike Tunisia within days. He said that the Muslim Brotherhood affiliated Al-Nahda Movement was planning to receive 1500 ISIS militants who fought in Syria on the pretext that they are Tunisian citizens.
Qafrash said the ISIS militants were in Turkey and wanted to return to Tunisia for fear of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Qafrash said that this information was disclosed to him by a Turkish journalist and that the latter gave him the list of individuals who will be received in Tunisia over the next two days.
He warned that these militants, who have been fighting in Syria for years, are now likely to be sent to Tunisia or even Libya, where Turkey has been importing Syrian fighters to support the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) against the Libyan National Army (LNA).
“Some of them were in the ranks of the Al-Nusra Front led by one of its members, called Abu Musab Al-Tunisi,” Qafrash stated.
The Head of the Tunisian Salvation Front said that Tunisian President Kais Saied and his Prime Minister, Elyes Fakhfakh, bear the responsibility for receiving these terrorists. He called on leaders of the Tunisian Muslim Brotherhood to be trialed before national and international courts on charges of supporting terrorism.
Qafrash demanded that the Tunisian people and the opposition coordinate their efforts to prevent the entry of the militants to Tunisia.
