The Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, received a senior delegation of the Al-Magarha tribe on Thursday.
The delegation reiterated its full support for the General Command in the war on terror. “They affirmed their full appreciation for all the efforts exerted by the military establishment, in the east, west, and south,” a media statement reported.
Field Marshal Haftar commended the great role played by all Libyan tribes. He affirmed his thanks and gratitude for their efforts and support for the LNA.
On Wednesday, Haftar ordered the formation of a security room for the Greater Benghazi region. The room will be headed by Lieutenant General Abdel-Razek Al-Nazouri, the LNA’s Chief of Staff, and includes the Interior Minister, and a number of senior officers.
The operation launched is due to enforce law and order, and maintain security. Included in the operations tasks are the elimination of crime, weapons control, and the arrest of all groups affiliated with the military and security establishment, found abusing their power.
It also aims at enhancing coordination between various security and military agencies, as well as forming detachments to confront any rebel forces, and arresting all wanted criminals.
