On Tuesday, the Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the global and regional security situation remains difficult. This is due to the current conflicts raging in the Middle East and North Africa region.

Putin said at the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa) video summit that the armed conflict taking place in Libya constitutes a risk of destabilization in the region.

The Russian President stated, “Dangerous destabilization is observed in the Middle East and North Africa, and armed confrontations continue in Libya, and Yemen. Much remains to be done to reach a political settlement in Syria.”

Turning to the issues of global and regional security, Putin said the situation remains tense as cyber threats are increasing, in addition to terrorist activities
