Al-Fitouri Gribel, a member of the GNA delegation in the 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC), stated that both sides are working to remove mercenaries from Libya.
He called on the international community and the participants of the Berlin Conference to bear their responsibilities.
In a press statement, Gribel added that the JMC has urged the international community to put pressure on countries that have mercenaries in Libya. These forces must be called back and weapons must be prevented from reaching the country, whether by land, sea, or air. He confirmed that these recommendations will be submitted to the UN Security Council.
Gribel also noted that the guarantees for the implementation of the ceasefire agreement are the expulsion of mercenaries and the return of military forces to their bases.
He explained that the two parties of the JMC have the desire to comply with the Security Council resolution, describing this as “a promising start”.
