China will hold a training program for Libyan doctors and medical experts to understand the protocols and procedures used by China in the diagnosis and treatment of cases infected with COVID-19

According to the Government of National Accord’s (GNA) Foreign Ministry’s Facebook page, it will implement the training program using techniques and methods adopted by China. This is in order to enhance Libya’s capacity to deal with a COVID-19 outbreak, as well as ways of managing critical situations.

According to the statement, the Chinese experts involved in the training exercise will include “Dr. Jiao Jie”, president of Peking University International Hospital, and “Dr. Zhu Chen”, director of human resources for the Chinese National Health Commission.

In the meantime, the Ministry forwarded the offering by the Chinese Ministry of Health to the National Center for Disease Control for the nomination of Libyan experts for training.

The ministry pointed out that the head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al Sarraj had sent a formal request President Xi Jinping of China, asking for assistance of Chinese experts to deal with the Coronavirus.

It should be noted that Libya has not recorded any cases of the virus as of yet.

China has succeeded in curbing the spread of the virus in its territory. It is now sending medical missions directly to countries heavily affected by the virus, such as Italy, Iran, Iraq, and even less affected states by such as Kuwait, Yemen, and Egypt.
