The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, will hold talks in Moscow with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al-Thani.
The two FMs are set to discuss a number of regional issues, especially the Libyan crisis and the Middle East peace settlement process.
“It is also planned to discuss the situation in the North African country through the coordination of specific practical steps by regional countries. This is aimed at strengthening mutual trust and creating favourable conditions for establishing dialogue and easing tensions,” the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
Qatar has been a staunch supporter of various militias aligned with the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) against the eastern-based Libyan Parliament and the Libyan National Army (LNA).
