Professor Atef Al-Hassia, a candidate for leading Libya’s interim executive authority has presented his electoral program before the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) in Geneva.

On Tuesday, Al-Hassia said if elected he would work to protect sovereignty, improve the economy, and implement a comprehensive and inclusive national reconciliation program. He explained that his program is, “the pillar of restoring the stability of Libya.”

He pointed out that he would launch a “national campaign,” to combat smuggling and human trafficking, adding that “outlaws and groups will be arrested and punished according to the law.”

The candidate believes that, “all of Libya’s crises cannot be resolved within a short period of a few months, but the unity government will begin nonetheless.”

He promised to “achieve transparency in spending on the army and legislative bodies, improve national income, and rationalize government spending.”
