On Tuesday, Head of Libya’s ‘Supreme Scientific Advisory Committee to Confront Coronavirus’, Dr. Khalifa Al-Bakoush announced that 300,000 doses of the vaccine will arrive in the country within days.

Al-Bakoush stated that the rolling-out of the vaccination program will begin at the end of this week, or early next week. He indicated that the Presidential Council’s Reforms Committee is providing the vaccines, and is actively seeking to purchase from more agents as soon as possible.

Libya has contracted to purchase 12 million doses of the vaccine that will arrive in succession from four international companies, according to the National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC).

Libya had recorded a total of 140,000 cases of the virus, including 128,000 recoveries, and 2,297 deaths.
