The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) reported that bad weather conditions and extreme wind speeds led to four power transmission towers in Tawergha to collapse, causing a blackout across the city.

The maintenance teams of the Central Region Distribution Department intervened to secure power from alternative sources. Work is still ongoing to maintain the towers by the maintenance and operation teams in the city of Misrata.

On Saturday, the Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU) Abdel-Hamid Dbaiba witnessed the opening of the Misrata University branch in Tawergha. The opening ceremony was attended by the Ministers of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Health.
