Libya Minister of Education, Musa Al-Maqrif met his Egyptian counterpart, Tarek Shawki in the presence of the Libyan Minister’s advisor, Abdel-Salam Al-Saghir, and the Egyptian Deputy Minister, Ahmed Al-Daher in Tripoli.

The meeting discussed aspects of cooperation between the two countries in the field of education. They also discussed Egypt’s experience in distance learning, the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB) and the extent of its use, in addition to implementing training programs for teachers and educational inspectors. During this meeting, Al-Maqrif praised Libyan-Egyptian relations, expressing his aspiration for greater cooperation between the two countries.

On Tuesday, Egypt’s Prime Minister, Mustafa Madbouly visited Libya, accompanied by a delegation of 11 government ministers. This is the first such visit by senior Egyptian officials to the conflict-torn country in years.

During the visit, Madbouly stressed Cairo’s support for national efforts aimed at reaching reconciliation, restoring unity, and achieving development for the Libyan people. He also confirmed that Egypt is keen on supporting Libyan institutions in their efforts to settle the crisis.

Madbouly’s visit to Tripoli comes a month after the interim Government of National Unity (GNU) assumed power after almost a decade of turmoil.
