On Sunday, the ‘Moderate Parliamentary Bloc’ expressed its concern about the slow pace taken by Libya’s new Presidential Council and its “confusing decisions” including the “establishment of reconstruction funds without outlining a comprehensive and well-prepared vision that prevents corruption and includes all affected cities.”

In a statement, the bloc denounced the increasing foreign interference in the Libya’s internal affairs, which is “caused by the unjustified indulgence of the Presidential Council and the Government of National Accord (GNU) with many world countries, instead of working internally to build internal communication bridges of confidence among the Libyan people.”

It also urged the executive bodies that the removal of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libya must be a top priority, expressing its grave concern over the delay in the work of the 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC) in implementing the agreed-upon security arrangements, especially with regard to reopening the coastal road.

The bloc voiced its concern about the Presidential Council’s failure to adopt any practical steps to unify the military, and called for the launching of a national initiative for reconciliation as soon as possible.

In addition, it called for practical and serious steps to support the holding of the December elections on time, in accordance with a legal constitutional basis, in order to end the transitional phase and begin real stability and construction.
