Saleh Al-Fandi, Head of Libya’s Supreme Tribal and Social Council, denounced the closing of the Man Made River water pipeline, leaving Tripoli and the majority of western Libya, without running water.

Al-Fandi stated that those responsible for the water blockade must be held accountable for their actions, and called on local authorities in southern Libya to bring an immediate end to the blockade

Two groups claimed responsibility for the water blockade, with one group demanding the release of prisoners in the eastern Libya and another demanding the release of prisoners in the western Libya
