On Thursday, the Minister of Economy for Libya’s Interim Government ordered the formation of a central committee tasked with securing the prices of food and basic commodities in the country.
In Decision no. 24 of 2020, the minister called on all Libyan economic bodies to cooperate with the committee and provide it with the necessary data.
The committee will be chaired by Abdul Moneim Al-Saiti and include members from the Municipal Guard Authority, the Criminal Investigation Agency and the chambers of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce.
The minister noted that the members of the newly created committee are obliged to fully cooperate with the ‘Supreme Committee to Combat Coronavirus’ and abide by its decisions.
