Former US Envoy To Libya: GNA Must Stop “Cycles Of Revenge”

The Former United States Special Envoy to Libya, Jonathan Winer, said that the “cycles of revenge” carried out by the Government of National Accord (GNA) will result in further damage to Libya.

In a statement on Twitter on Thursday, Winer said that it’s critical for the GNA to take all possible steps to prevent atrocities carried out by its forces.

This comes amid reports of human rights violations by GNA forces in the cities of Sabratha and Surman. Libya’s former Justice Minister, Salah Marghani, recently claimed that “Consistent and credible reports tell of atrocities being committed by GNA loyal militias, against civilians who showed support for the Libyan National Army (LNA) in western coastal cities.”
