On Sunday, the Jordanian Foreign Ministry welcomed a joint statement by France, Germany, Italy, and the European Union that renewed calls for a humanitarian truce in Libya.
Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi of Jordan confirmed the Kingdom’s support for the statement. The statement urged the Libyan National Army and the Government of National Accord to resume peace talks and agree to a ceasefire.
Jordan’s Foreign Minister said that Jordan was adding its voice to the global call for the parties in Libya to return to dialogue, reject violence and cooperate in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Safadi stressed the importance of responding to the UN Secretary General’s appeal and bring an end to all global conflicts.
