Data compiled by the Government of National Accord’s Ministry of Labour and Rehabilitation showed that the number of job seekers in Libya amounted to 128,697.

The statistics showed that the number of registered female job seekers reached 72,649, while the number of males was around 56,030.

It noted that Libya’s western region recorded the largest number of job seekers, amounting to 71,303 people across 46 municipalities.

According to the data, the number of job seekers with postgraduate degrees was approximately 230 people, while those with an undergraduate qualification amounted to 50,643 people. Nationals without an educational qualification amounted to 10,356.

Oil-rich Libya has been marred in chaos since the ouster and killing of Muammar Gaddafi in 2011. It now has two rival authorities and a multitude of armed groups vying for control of the country’s funds and institutions.
