Richard Norland, the United States (US) Special Envoy to Libya, reaffirmed the US’ dedication to assisting the Libyan people in achieving their enduring goal of forming a unified government.

Speaking on Saturday, Norland emphasised the comprehensive nature of US commitment, spanning across Libya’s diverse regions from the East to the West and the South.

According to statements released on the US Embassy in Libya’s X account, Norland highlighted the US’ focus on fostering a unified Libyan government.

Norland passionately appealed to Libyan leaders to transcend their divisions, prioritise the collective welfare of the nation, and partake in genuine dialogue aimed at propelling Libya towards a transformative epoch.

The Envoy’s remarks underscore a continued US strategy to fortify its partnership with the Libyan populace, reinforcing the international community’s role in supporting Libya’s path to stability and growth.

This reiteration of support comes at a critical juncture for Libya, as the country seeks to navigate its way out of prolonged political fragmentation and towards unity and recovery.

The US, through voices like Norland’s, signals unwavering support for Libya’s journey towards reconciliation and national coherence.

Last month, Norland, affirmed support for efforts aimed at enhancing sustainable and ongoing improvements in healthcare systems in Libya.

Norland participated in a virtual meeting with officials from the Libyan Ministry of Health. They are visiting the US to meet with healthcare providers and hospitals in New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C.

He expressed his gratitude to the Director of the US-Libya Business Chamber, Debbie Hersch, for hosting the virtual discussion.

Norland stated, “we welcome their visit and support efforts aimed at enhancing sustainable and ongoing improvements in healthcare systems and healthcare in Libya and around the world.”
