On Saturday, the Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the Libyan House of Representatives (HOR) headed by Yousef Al-Agouri welcomed the UN Security Council’s call for a global ceasefire to tackle the spread of the coronavirus.
In a statement, Al-Agouri drew attention to the committee’s previous calls for a ceasefire and united efforts to confront the coronavirus epidemic, which poses a threat to all.
Al-Agouri emphasized that Libyans must unite in the face of the epidemic and strive to adhere to the global ceasefire that the United Nations demands to allow humanitarian aid to reach the people.
He stressed that a ceasefire is necessary to ensure the security and access to health care required by the current circumstances.
