On Wednesday, a delegation from the Supreme Council of Sheikhs arrived in Cairo to announce tribal support for the request made by the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) to the Egyptian armed forces to intervene militarily in Libya in order to protect national security.

In press statements, the head of the Tribe of Warshfana, Dr. Mabrouk Bo’ameed, said that national, social, and political leaders will head to Egypt. This is within the framework of coordinating positions between the two people and pushing for the activation of the joint Arab defense agreement.

He added that the visit was aimed at garnering the support of the Egyptian armed forces through the HoR and the general command of the Libyan National Army (LNA), as well as taking the necessary legal measures to guarantee the unity and sovereignty of Libya, protecting its people, fight terrorism, repel foreign invasions, and extend control over the entirety of the country.
