Libya’s Deputy Prime Minister of the Parliament-designate government, Ali Al-Qatrani, underscored the government’s commitment to supporting healthcare services across the country. This came during a recent meeting with Dr Mohamed Faraj Madi, the General Director of Benghazi Medical Centre.
Al-Qatrani highlighted the critical role of the Benghazi Medical Centre in providing essential health services to residents of Benghazi and nearby regions. He noted that the government prioritises healthcare as a fundamental right for all Libyan citizens.
Al-Qatrani stated the government’s intention to allocate resources for critical improvements in Libya’s healthcare infrastructure.
He highlighted the need for adequate medical supplies, well-trained medical staff, and proper equipment to ensure high-quality healthcare services.
“Ensuring medical facilities are properly equipped and staffed is essential, particularly during these challenging times,” Al-Qatrani commented.
Additionally, he mentioned plans to improve the infrastructure of medical facilities, aiming to create a supportive environment for healthcare professionals and ensure accessible healthcare for Libyans.
Dr Madi expressed his gratitude to Al-Qatrani and the Parliament-designate government for their ongoing support of the health sector.
He noted the strides Benghazi Medical Centre has made recently and highlighted its dedication to delivering the best possible healthcare to patients.
“Our goal remains to provide consistent, high-quality care to our communities,” Madi said, emphasising the need for sustained support and resources.
The Deputy Prime Minister praised the centre’s commitment to 24-hour service, acknowledging the dedication of its healthcare staff.
He reiterated that comprehensive healthcare would remain a government priority, and the administration is committed to collaborating with medical centres to address existing challenges.
The meeting concluded with Al-Qatrani’s pledge that the government would continue to work closely with medical facilities across Libya, affirming healthcare as a basic right that all citizens are entitled to.
