On Tuesday, Ali Al-Saeedi Al-Qaidi, a member of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR), praised the Egyptian Parliament’s approval to deploy forces to protect Egyptian and Libyan national security.
In press statements, the MP said that the Egyptian Parliament’s decision reflects the will of the Libyan people and MPs in their political leadership, as well as the armed forces. It also showed their support for any measures aimed at protecting the national security of Egypt, as well as that of neighboring countries.
He also appreciated the rapid response by Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to support the Libyan people against Turkish interventionism. He said that Egypt’s military intervention conformed with international legitimacy as it is authorized by the HoR, the only elected institution in the country.
He added, “Egypt fought about 6 wars in order to defend Arab issues. Therefore, it surely will not leave its historical ally and neighbor country (Libya) alone in the face of Erdogan’s ambitions and the specter of division”.
Al-Qaidi expressed his thanks for Egyptian support for a political solution in the form of the ‘Cairo Declaration’ initiative, a roadmap for a comprehensive solution to the crisis based on the Berlin Conference outputs.
The MP stressed that he believed Egypt would put an end to militia rule, arms proliferation, and blatant external interference in Libya after almost a decade of chaos.
