The Chairman of Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC), Farhat Bengdara, revealed that 70% of Libya’s land remains unexplored, offering vast opportunities to harness the country’s oil resources.

Speaking at joint workshops with the U.S. Department of Commerce and global oil companies in Cairo, Bengdara highlighted Libya’s significant potential in the oil sector. He stressed the NOC’s commitment to developing these resources in collaboration with international partners.

The workshops aim to strengthen partnerships with global oil firms, explore technological advancements, and discuss investment opportunities in oil and gas. Key industry representatives attended the event, fostering dialogue on the challenges and prospects within the sector.

Discussions centred on strategies to enhance oil production, ensure sustainable growth, and protect the sector’s digital infrastructure. Improving efficiency and innovation was also a primary focus.

Additionally, the event highlighted the “Million Trees” project, an initiative aimed at promoting environmental sustainability around oil operations.
