The 79th Parachute Course has officially commenced at the Special Forces and Parachute School, bringing together personnel from multiple units of the Libyan Armed Forces.
The launch of the course follows direct instructions from the Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, and the recommendations of the Deputy Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant General Saddam Haftar, both of whom have emphasized the need to elevate combat preparedness and strengthen the capabilities of specialized military units.
Military officials supervising the program stated that the course is designed to advance airborne skills, rapid deployment abilities, and the overall operational readiness of participating troops.
It forms part of a wider plan by the General Command to modernize training standards and ensure the armed forces maintain the flexibility and professionalism required for a broad range of missions.
Trainees have already successfully completed the ground-training phase, which included physical conditioning, equipment handling, emergency procedures, coordination exercises, and theoretical instruction covering all aspects of airborne operations.
Participants also executed parachute application drills on the ground, demonstrating strong technical discipline and adherence to safety protocols.
Having passed these stages, the trainees have now entered the live-jump phase — one of the most challenging and decisive requirements of the course. This phase measures operational discipline, mental focus, readiness to execute airborne missions, and the ability to respond under pressure.
Successful completion of this stage is necessary before participants advance to the final evaluations and complete the full training program.
Instructors at the Parachute School highlighted that the continuation of such courses reflects the General Command’s broader commitment to developing elite units capable of responding quickly and effectively to emerging security challenges.
