On Thursday, the Deputy Finance Minister of Libya’s Interim Government, Imrajaa Ghaith, denied meeting the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Mustafa Sanalla.
In press statements, Ghaith said that he was ready to meet with any official, whether from the eastern or western regions. He confirmed his readiness to meet Sanalla at any time.
Yesterday, high-ranking sources confirmed Sanalla’s presence in Benghazi, as well as his meeting with Ghaith.
Last month, Ghaith revealed that consultations are ongoing with the Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA). He explained that this was the first negotiation of its kind since 2015. He claimed that the negotiations stem from the oil resumption agreement which is meant to divide oil revenues through a unified budget for the country’s three regions.
