On Saturday, The Prime Minister of Libya’s Interim Government, Abdullah Al-Thinni, announced the arrival of a large shipment of medical supplies to counter the spread of COVID-19.

After the countries surrounding Libya were hit by the pandemic, authorities across Libya took a series of important precautions to tackle the emerging Coronavirus.

On Friday Prime Minister Al-Thinni toured the city of Benghazi to verify the logistical needs to confront the virus. This comes just days after the decision to impose a nighttime curfew in the country from 6pm to 6am.

Al-Thinni also inspected security checkpoints staffed by Libyan National Army (LNA) and police forces, as well as the entrances and exits to Benghazi.

He also checked many pharmacies in the city, stressing the need to apply the official prices and ensure citizens receive the medications they needed.
