On Saturday, the media office of Brega and Zueitina ports announced the arrival of three crude oil tankers this week. The tankers will bring nearly 2.2 million barrels to Italy and Spain.

A media officer in Brega and Zweitina, Ahmed Khalifa, said that an oil tanker had already entered the port of Brega to load 600,000 barrels meant for Italy, while other tankers are expected to arrive within the next two days.

Khalifa added that one million barrels are expected to be shipped through the port of Zueitina to Spain, while the other shipment, estimated at about 600,000 barrels, will go to Italy.

In September Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, announced the resumption of oil production and export, “as long as funds are not used to finance terrorism.”

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) expects oil fields to produce about 300,000 barrels per day by next week. Notably, Libya’s daily oil production was more than 1.2 million bpd before the blockade took place in January.
