On Saturday, the French Foreign Ministry said that there is no military solution to the Libyan conflict and that the solution will be political. Paris specified that this political solution also requires a commitment from Libya’s neighbouring countries.

In its statement, the ministry added that the neighbouring countries of Libya are the first to be affected by the risks that the Libyan crisis poses to regional security and stability.

The statement added that the role of neighbouring countries is necessary and that they can contribute to achieving stability in contrast to the intervention of external powers.

The French Foreign Ministry welcomed the Bouznika dialogues, held in Morocco, between the Libyan Parliament and the High State Council.

It also pointed out that Morocco’s commitment represents an important contribution to the steps taken by the United Nations aimed at resuming the Libyan political dialogue.
