The Foreign Minister of Libya’s eastern-based Interim Government, Abdel Hadi Al-Hwaij, received a written letter from his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. The Saudi Foreign Minister called for deepening cooperation between the two countries at the bilateral and multilateral levels.
In his message, Prince Faisal bin Farhan affirmed his constant aspiration to enhance relations in various fields, in order to achieve the interests of the two brotherly countries.
In September, the Saudi official called for intra-Libyan talks. This was during the virtual 154th session of the Arab League Council which focused on Turkish interventions in Arab countries. In it, he urged Libyans to exercise self-restraint, and welcomed the ceasefire in the war-torn country.
Al-Saud stressed the need for a unified, and resolute common Arab policy, to deter Turkey. This would be achieved through greater coordination among Arab countries.
