The head of the management committee of the Arab Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO), Fadlallah Ateitah, announced the restarting of the largest complex in the Sarir Oil field (GC-2). This will allow work to completely resume at the field.

In a statement, the AGOCO pointed out that the matter was achieved thanks to “the efforts of the emerging technical elements, and the national experiences of various technical departments.” It specified that, “They made great efforts, and worked long and continuous hours to overcome the technical problems that hinder the operations.”

On Sunday, the National Oil Corporation (NOC) announced the lifting of the force majeure status it had imposed on the El-Sharara field.

The NOC said in a statement that it had instructed the field operator, Acacus, to initiate production arrangements, while taking into account staff safety, public safety standards, and process safety.

The NOC added that it had reached an agreement with the Petroleum Facilities Guards, whereby they are obligated to end all obstacles facing the El-Sharara field and ensure that there are no security breaches.
