Libya’s GNA Interior Minister & Italian Ambassador discuss Security Cooperation

On Monday, Fathi Bashagha, the Interior Minister of the Tripoli based Government of National Accord (GNA), discussed with the Italian Ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Grimaldi the possibility of increasing security cooperation between the two countries.

The two parties also discussed ways to support the training of Libyan police cadres, in addition to many common security concerns between the two states.

Furthermore, In a phone call on Monday with Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, President of the Government of National Accord, Fayez Al-Sarraj, expressed his government’s and the Libyan people’s solidarity with that of the Italian people in their struggle against the Covid-19 epidemic.

Al-Sarraj indicated his confidence in Italy’s ability to overcome the current crisis and helping in prevent the outbreak from taking place in Libya.
