Egypt-Greece Cary out Naval Drills in Mediterranean

Egyptian and Greek Naval Forces carried out a joint military exercise in the Mediterranean Sea. Egypt’s frigate Taba, and Greek warship HS HYDRA F-452 participated in the exercise.

The drills are aimed at reinforcing the military cooperation between the two countries. This comes as part of Egypt’s plan to share military expertise with friendly countries.

In December, a multi-nation joint naval and air exercise was carried out in Egyptian waters. Dubbed ‘Medusa 10,’ the military drill which included forces from Egypt, Greece, and Cyprus, lasted for several days. It was the first time France and the United Arab Emirates participated in the 2020 edition of the exercises.

The forces implemented several joint naval and air combat tasks to enhance the skills of commanders and officers in managing joint operations.

Egypt, a major military power in the Arab world, holds several military exercises with Arab, African, and Western allies annually to boost military cooperation, and share military expertise.
