The Spokesman of the Libyan National Army (LNA), Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, said that the LNA’s early warning and reconnaissance units monitored a foreign drone violating the Libyan airspace near the Harawa area, East of Sirte on Thursday.

In a statement on his official Facebook page, Al-Mismari added that this is a hostile action. Earlier, LNA’s General Command had stressed the need to respect the Libyan airspace and not to enter it except after coordination with the relevant authorities.

Al-Mismari explained that these hostile and provocative actions made by the parties seek to spoil the political settlement that the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) is working on.

The LNA’s spokesman said that, “we are fully aware of the malicious intentions behind these provocations of the armed forces in order to push them to counteraction, which is considered after that a violation of the ceasefire that we have previously declared our commitment to.”

“Therefore, we affirm our commitment to all that has been reached in terms of a ceasefire and all the requirements of the peace political process. We also affirm that these malicious acts will not affect us or our previous decisions. Enemies must know that testing our patience is dangerous.,” the statement added.
