On Friday the Nova news agency reported that the Libyan Interim Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Al-Dbeibah, will visit the city of Benghazi in the next few weeks.

Al-Dbeibah’s visit comes after the new Head of Libya’s Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Mnifi, visited Benghazi and met with the Libyan National Army’s (LNA) Field Marshal, Khalifa Haftar.

The LNA Commander reiterated his support for the new unified executive authority and confirmed that his forces will work to preserve democracy and the peaceful transfer of power.

Haftar expressed his support for the new Presidential Council and the outcome of the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum (LPDF) vote in Geneva that is set to bring the country closer to the next stage in its democratic process and national elections to be held in December 2021.
