Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Jan Kubis and Moroccan Foreign Minister, Nasser Bourita stressed the need for the international community to support the new phase in Libya and bring an end to the protracted conflict.

In a telephone call, the two parties renewed their rejection of external interference in the Libyan-led political process. They agreed to communicate regularly as part of an approach based on integration, coordination, and dialogue in the interest of Libya.

Bourita announced his support for UNSMIL, and his readiness to keep pace with efforts to ensure the country’s stability. He praised the new dynamism occurring in Libya, which is reflected in the appointment of a new interim government.
