Libya: Vaccines to Be Distributed All Over Libya

The Director of the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Badr Al-Din Al-Najjar, confirmed that the COVID-19 vaccine will be distributed to all vaccination centres in Libya.

In a speech, regarding the launch of the national vaccination campaign, Al-Najjar added that the vaccines are ready to be given to target groups that have been identified as priority groups. Those deemed a priority are medical and auxiliary medical personnel, the elderly and those with chronic diseases regardless of their age.

Al-Najjar said that the vaccine will come in succession, and he asked citizens to understand the technical nature of the roll out and the priority list. He called on the citizens to register in the electronic system for the vaccine, to form community immunity so that deaths and complications related to the infection stop.

The Head of the NCDC confirmed that the vaccine will be is available for all Libyans, foreigners and residents. He stressed the importance of not believing rumours in circulation that have nothing to do with health issues. He explained that complications associated with vaccinations are common.
